Every RPG has adventurers, eccentric folk who feel compelled to wander around caves looking for trolls, but very few have Adventurers. By adding rune stones and gems, you can create swords that drain blood, armor that increases your intelligence, or rings that improve your ability to barter.Īn interesting aspect of this game is the fact that you are an Adventurer. A new feature allows you to use a workshop to empower your weapons, armor, and accessories with magic. There is also a wider array of arms and equipment this time. The characters come named (like Thor from Gauntlet), but as you advance in level, you can customize their attributes and abilities. ![]() Unlike its predecessor, there are now five characters to pick from: a monk, cleric, thief, necromancer, and a barbarian. Of course if you’ve never played the first Baldur’s Gate, then the only surprise in store for you is an opening cutscene that serves as an advisory against jumping through eldritch portals (and where’d that dwarf come from?). The original Baldur’s Gate ended on a cliffhanger so it’s no surprise that BG:DA2 picks up where the first one left off.
